CDC Lifts Risk Advisory for Cruise Travel

By May 5, 2022Odenza News

As of March 2022, the US Centers for Disease Control (CDC) lifted all risk advisories for cruise ship travel, giving Americans the all-clear to return to the open seas.

The CDC still recommends that travellers be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccines and keep an eye on the color status of different cruise ships (cruise lines that opted in for the color status system provide the CDC with COVID-19 case numbers on their cruises) – the system is tiered as green (no cases), yellow (case numbers that do not meet the threshold for a CDC investigation), orange (cases meet the threshold for an investigation), and red (cases exceed the threshold). Americans can use this resource to assess which cruise lines are maintaining better control over COVID-19 cases, as well as getting a general sense of how COVID-19 cases are faring on major cruise lines.
